Our Organic Persimmon Slices come from a family-owned farm that has been growing organic fruit since 1982 in San Jose, CA. They utilize the geographic and weather patterns of their location for growing their fruit. Butte County experiences a very cold frost system in winter that combats insects. The plants go dormant in the winter and wake up in the springtime, refreshed and ready to produce. The family has a watering system in place that helps the plants in case of a spring frost. The ample sunshine and heat during summer helps their crops to mature.

Dried persimmons make a delicious addition to cookies, breads, granola, yogurt, trail mix, or cooked cereals.
Traditional Korean Persimmons In Cinnamon & Ginger Tea. Here’s the Recipe: 3 pieces Organic Dried Persimmons from the Bulk Section 1 piece Cinnamon stick/bark ~ about 2 ½ - 3” long 1 TBSP Fresh Ginger ~ about 1” chunk, slice into several pieces 3 cups Water 1/8 cup Raw Cane Sugar Optional: Some pine nuts Boil water, sugar, cinnamon and ginger for 3-5 minutes. Add dried persimmons, boil for 1-2 minutes. Turn off heat and let steep for 1-2 hours. Remove persimmons, slice into several pieces. Set aside. In individual serving bowls, add few pieces of the sliced persimmon and top it up with the sweet liquid. Garnish with pine nuts. Serve hot or cold.
