Sweet cherries are harvested in Oregon, Washington, & California during the summer months of June, July, and August. Sweet cherries contain antioxidants such as phenols, melatonin and quercetin. They are considered a good source of dietary potassium which may help to control blood pressure and reduce the risk of hypertension and stroke. They are also a tasty addition when used as an ingredient in trail mixes, snack packs, muffin or bread mixes, or try as a topping.
